Videos available for 2 weeks)
March 13-15, 2026
Becoming a Kadampa meditation teacher is one of the most precious ways we can benefit others in this world. By sharing Buddhist wisdom, we can help people solve their daily problems and find an authentic path to lasting happiness.
This special “Becoming a Modern-Day Kadampa Teacher” weekend course is open both to Kadampa meditation teachers who are currently teaching and wish to refresh and deepen their skills, and to anyone who feels inspired to learn how to become a Kadampa meditation teacher.
Teaching meditation is a powerful way to deepen our own commitment to spiritual development and to improve our experience of the spiritual path. Over the course of this weekend, we will explore and develop
five essential teaching skills:
Preparing meaningful and inspiring classes
Learning how to guide meditations skilfully
Developing our confidence as a teacher
Responding to questions with wisdom and kindness
How to create connection with students and between students
This course will draw participants from across Canada and offers a special, rare opportunity to come together as a Kadampa community - supporting one another, sharing inspiration, and making many meaningful connections with others.
Teachers
This course will be taught by three senior Kadampa teachers:
Gen Kelsang Chodor, National Spiritual Director
Gen Kelsang Chögyan, Resident Teacher of KMC Montreal
Gen Kelsang Thekchen, Resident Teacher of KMC Ottawa
All three teachers bring a wealth of experience and practical advice drawn from decades of teaching Kadampa Buddhism in many different countries.
