Peaceful Sundays: Explore Your Mind
~Letting Go of Attachment~
With Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Chodor
These Sunday morning classes are the perfect way to spend part of your weekend — beginning with a guided meditation to help settle and relax the mind, followed by practical Buddhist wisdom that can help us better understand our mind and emotions. This knowledge is priceless, helping us stay positive, peaceful, and more in control amidst the busyness of daily life.
Based on the book How to Understand the Mind * by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, each week we will explore a different aspect of the mind and learn practical methods to improve our day-to-day happiness and wellbeing.
Everyone is welcome to attend the classes. Each class includes:
Introduction to the class
Guided settling meditation (15 minutes)
Brief chanted prayers
Practical teaching on understanding the mind
Guided meditation (15–20 minutes)
Discussion and Q&A
Optional refreshments afterwards
After the class, enjoy complimentary refreshments in our community room, ask questions, or simply connect with others. The Temple shop will also be open, offering books and meditation resources to support your practice.
*Both printed and ebook versions of How to Understand the Mind are available at Tharpa Publications.
