Walk for World Peace 2024

Walk for World Peace 2024

Annual Fundraiser

Enjoy a beautiful Spring day outdoors for a good cause!

Our Founder, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, said, ‘Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible.’ On Sunday, May 5th, 2024, Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada is leading its “Walk for World Peace” to promote world peace through inner peace. We will be fundraising together, starting with an inspirational talk about the International Temples Project, followed by a walk around Toronto Island Park. A commemorative T-shirt, a beautiful design printed on a soft-style material, will be available for purchase. Make a day out of it - bring your family, friends... and your dog! Everyone is welcome to participate.

Silent Auction Dinner & A Movie Fundraiser

Silent Auction Dinner & A Movie Fundraiser

You are cordially invited to... Join our community in the beautiful environment of Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada and enjoy a fantastic evening of mocktails, a meaningful movie, some delicious dining and auction fun!

The night begins in the community area with mocktails and appetizers. Then, the meditation hall doors opens and we are greeted by our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Chodor with a brief talk and introduction to the movie, Life of Buddha. Half way through the movie, we enjoy a delicious dinner and then continue with the second part of the movie.

Silent auction opportunities, along with a raffle, will jazz up the night. This is KMC Canada’s biggest fundraiser of the year, don’t miss it!  Everybody welcome.

*Due to our dining room size, we will limit the dinner tickets to only 40 people, please register as soon as possible to not be disappointed.*

Banjara Indian Restaurant is kindly donating the meals for the event.

  • Parking spaces are limited in the area. For this reason, it is easier to come by public transport if this is an option for you.

It is possible to find parking in the nearby streets. However, it is generally not possible to park for more than 3 hours during the day. It is necessary to have a permit in order to park overnight in the area.

Temporary day parking spots nearby: Some options are available for temporary day parking spots nearby, for example with the following companies: Green P Parking, Spot Hero.

Temporary on-street permit parking in Toronto: Provided space is available, a temporary parking permit may be purchased by residents and their guests to park a motor vehicle on a street designated under the permit parking program of the city of Toronto. This program generally services those residential areas where driveways are not common. If you choose this option, please avoid parking on Crawford St. if possible. You may get a ticket as it is complaint driven and the residents have limited space for their own street parking on Crawford St.
