Silence in the City - A Half-Day Silent Retreat

  • Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada 631 Crawford Street Toronto ON M6G 3K1 (map)

Experience the Transformative Power of Mantra in Silence

This silent retreat offers a rare opportunity to engage deeply with the ancient practice of mantra recitation - a practice designed to calm the mind, dissolve mental distractions, and bring about profound inner transformation.

Throughout the retreat, we will be guided in meditations on the breath using the timeless mantra OM AH HUM, known as the ‘mantra of all Buddhas’.

For thousands of years, this mantra has been recited to cultivate the qualities of enlightened body, speech, and mind, offering a path to clarity, inner peace, and a good heart.

Inspired by the compassionate mind of Bodhichitta, the mantra will be recited quietly (mentally), allowing its transformative power to unfold naturally within.

Take a peaceful pause from everyday life and return feeling calmer, clearer and more refreshed.

This meditation retreat is open to everyone, regardless of prior experience - you don't need any background in meditation or Buddhism to join.

You'll be guided throughout, so there's nothing to figure out on your own and no pressure to ‘get it right’.

Seating is on a chair or cushion.
